Steady Strides Equestrian Team is an IEA dressage team located in central Maine and coached by Tyra Payne. The team participates in dressage competitions through the Interscholastic Equestrian Association (IEA), a national organization established in 2002 to “introduce students in private and public middle and secondary schools to equestrian sports and to promote and improve the quality of equestrian competition and instruction.” Through IEA, riders compete in dressage tests and dressage seat equitation classes against other teams in the New England region throughout the school year.
"Participating in IEA dressage has been a great opportunity to broaden riders’ skills and experiences. It has been wonderful to coach these young equestrians and to watch them grow as riders and competitors, maintain excellent horsemanship and sportsmanship, and support and encourage each other. I am very proud of each and every rider and look forward to next season!" Tyra Payne, Steady Strides Coach
